Vancouver City Hall Elopement
I was contacted by L & M a short two weeks prior to their wedding day to be their wedding photographer in Vancouver at the City Hall. The timing couldn't have been any better as I was already headed to the mainland for a wedding in Whistler the next day. I am so happy the universe brought us all together and I was able to capture their micro Vancouver City Hall wedding.
We started the day out in the early afternoon at Queen Elizabeth Park. The lighting for mid day couldn't have been any better, with a nice high cloud diffusing the harsh light I was thanking the weather gods. L & M shared an adorable first look, and right away I could see how true their connection was and how much they love one another. After the first look we took a few group photos with their closest friends who were in attendance, then wandered the gardens at Queen Elizabeth Park for a few portraits of the bride and groom. This location for wedding portraits is pretty incredible, although you may have to wait in line for a few key spots, it is obvious why it is one of the number one locations for weddings, elopement and portrait photography in Vancouver.
After Portraits it was time to head to City Hall. We all met in the parking lot outside and had a few minutes to spare for some group photos on the stairs in front of the highrise building. In my opinion Vancouver City Hall is a stunning location for your elopement, the city views and backdrops make a beautiful backdrop for your urban Vancouver elopement. L & M exchanged vows indoors in the City Hall courtroom, this made for a moody atmosphere, which I loved. It was simple and perfect, with only a few close friends on each side. After the vows and paper signing they shared a classic exit through the hall doors and I stole them away for a few more portraits with the city backdrop.
If you are ready to tie the knot but want to keep it simple and easy, I highly recommend a Vancouver City Hall elopement. Sometimes less is more, and for these two it was their dream wedding day. I am soo soo stoked I got to be apart of it as their wedding photographer.
