This is me!

Hey! I'm Kea, the girl behind the lens. I am down to earth, a little introverted with a side of sass and a need for adventure and adrenaline.

I was born and raised on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in the small community of Ucluelet, BC, which is where I fell in love with nature and the outdoors. I love including BC’s incredible backdrops into my images and showing off the beautiful surroundings, sometimes having to get a little muddy along the way.

I am obsessed with the mountains and have spent a large amount of my life chasing snow. My hobbies and passions to name a few are photography, snowboarding, hiking in the mountains, road trips, camping, skateboarding, attempting to surf, exploring coastlines, my family and friends. I also like to binge on netflix while knitting copious amounts of toques but let's not tell anyone that.

I like my clients to know what to expect from me, I take a more laid back photo journalistic approach to my images capturing real candid moments as they unfold. When necessary I will guide you into natural authentic poses & positions to make those money shots for the grandparents mantelpiece and to capture the most flattering images of you with the best lighting.

If you have any questions about me or my photography approach please reach out! I look forward to creating some magic with you and making a new friend along the way!

A few interesting facts about me:

  1. I might be the youngest person you know with an ICD (similar to pacemaker) in their chest. I was diagnosed with a heart condition after being misdiagnosed for years as epileptic. They finally caught it when I went to the ER for heart palpitations which turned out to be me going into cardiac arrest. 5 days spent in the hospital and I came out with a crazy piece of technology lodged inside me that will potentially save my life if I ever go into another episode. I call him/it Larry.
  2. I spent over half my life chasing snow. Since I was 12 I have had an obsession with snowboarding & the mountains, and my life revolved around it for years (still kind of does) I lived in Whistler for 8 years, spent 4 winters in Colorado, and was considered an ameture professional. One high moment was an article in Snowboard Canada as an up & coming rider. The next season I encountered a knee injury and then my heart condition and was forced to take a few years off. You will still find me in the mountains most days of the week in the winters but now its just for myself and the love of the sport. If anyone wants to get eloped or have an adventure session on top the mountains, I am your girl!
  3. I knit. Like copious amounts of luxury extremely soft comfortable toques. so if you ever need a new accessory for the colder months hit me up! OK turns out there aren't very many interesting facts about me so that's all for now.

Me and my best buddy Doch.
